I can't find the Flash J 5" pintail (see photo) anywhere, so I thought I'd try the Split (forked tail) version. I've only just started using them so can't vouch for their fish-catching qualities, but I can't see why they shouldn't catch. I have caught on the 4" version, which is quite small and doesn't cast too well. I also have the 7" version, which is a bit on the big side. All these lures look incredibly natural on the retrieve, and are ideal for fishing through weed at low water.
PS. Sorry for detracting from photo thread, but I thought this was essential for Michael's mental health
Competition sponsor, Ed Hennessy (Lure Fishing for Bass), and Steve Pitts (still a rank amateur) each chose a shortlist of 5 photos and from these agreed that the photo which best captured the spirit of the competition was:
65cm lure PB by Lois Harris
And the runner up was Michael Brazendale's photo of a lone angler surf fishing for bass.
Congratulations to Lois and Michael.
There were significantly less entries for July's competition - it would be nice to see a few more BASS members having a go this month. There are some great prizes on offer so let's get snapping!
